It is easy to be carried away but try to settle into the race over the first kilometre. You can make up for lost time later in the race. Have the same breakfast as training, same nutrition during the race and wear the same trainers. . 3. Know your friends and family. Knowing where your supporters are positioned throughout the race can be excellent motivation during the run. . 4. Prepare. If it is cold take an old jumper or spare top for the start line. Fight the hardest when the cards are stacked against you.... . Bad things happen to everyone at some point, you're probably going through something tough right now as you read this. Nobody has a smooth ride all the way in 🤔 . Life is learning to live happily and knowing that there will be numerous problems of varying severity along the way, and being able to cope and deal with them as they come up is essential. . We all battle problems in our own unique way, usually our mindset, attitudes and experiences in life will determine HOW we fight against hardship, tough times and adversity. . The reality is some people will fight and some people won't. By fight, I mean work their way out of a bad situation, problem solve, look for reasonable solutions and ultimately not stop until they have put themselves back into a good place. . The other type of person will often bury their head, let a problem fester and grow until the problem completely consumes them and potentially even spiral out of control. Do not let this happen!! . ➡️ What do you need to know.... . Life is a journey full of problems, some of which you share and some of which you will deal with completely by yourself. A serious problem for 1 person is neither here nor there for another, its all relative to how we perceive things, which can be amplified by other factors going on in our lives at the same time. . One thing I am completely sure about is this... . EVERY problem has a solution of some discription, its just exploring options and problem solving until you come up with the best strategy to help deal with it, sometimes the solutions aren't easy and sometimes you have do things you don't want to do in order to solve the problem. . Be the who fights the hardest when their back is against the wall, the person that finds strength in adversity and not the person who runs from it. . Don't be afraid to ask for help or advice, as often a solution could be obvious but you haven't seen it (or maybe don't want to hear it). . Ultimately, the key is this... OWN THE PROBLEM... Jag tror verkligen på att man ska vila när kroppen säger ifrån, inte pusha sig själv för hårt för då håller det inte i längden, gäller ju med allt egentligen & inte bara träning. Vilar du inte bygger du inte upp kroppen, då kroppen bryts ner av träning är det först vid vila som den fullständiga träningseffekten uppstår! Så dubbla pass måndag & onsdag samt heldag på jobbet på tisdagen resulterade idag i att jag var jäkligt trött när klockan ringde för gym imorse, jag kände verkligen hur kroppen skrek att jag skulle ligga kvar & somna om, så jag gjorde det & det kändes så jäkla skönt! Så nu är klockan strax efter elva & jag har nyss intagit min frukost🙌 kroppen känns stark & pigg! Så nu är jag återigen laddad för dubbla träningspass dagen till ära! Behövde bara sova ut imorse & skippa gymmet helt enkelt💁‍♀️ jag kan bli så inrutad på det jag gör, har jag gått upp varje morgon & kört gym så måste jag fortsätta med det trots att jag exempelvis som idag är ledig, då kan man lägga om träningen lite istället! Förra omgången jag körde med online coach så pressade jag mig själv hela tiden, ändå gick jag inte ner så mycket i vikt alls, med tanke på vad jag åt & hur mycket jag tränade borde det varit mycket mer. Han sa hela tiden åt mig att jag är stressad & därav går jag inte ner, "du stressar din kropp så den släpper inte ifrån sig något" sa han. Jag tror stenhårt på att det var anledningen! One of my favorite exercises that I use to strengthen the posterior chain. This version with the EZ bar is the advanced version. . The difficulty in training the posterior chain is that most people lack motor control, proprioception. Because of bad posture in daily life, they loose their sense of what good posture is. . A good example is the deadlift. Although it is an amazing exercise and part of the primal movement patterns, the technical complexity of the exercise is always the limiting factor when clients build up the weight. With beginners I never use the deadlift for that reason. . The 45gr back extension is a great exercise to build up strength and awareness of good positioning of the spine. 🦶🏾THE IMPORTANCE OF FOOT STRENGTH IN WEIGHT LIFTING - I’ve spent a lot of time working on my flat feet in the past. Focusing on building up more of an arch, getting them stronger, creating more movement and loosening them up. This has paid big dividends in my squats and deadlifts, and will continue to do so in the future. - There are over 100 muscles, ligaments and tendons in the human foot. When you perform a movement such as a squat, deadlift, clean etc. the movement starts from the ground, in your feet. What happens there will travel up your kinetic chain and influence what happens through the rest of the movement. - Don't skip the fluffy stuff. Also don’t confuse fluffy with easy☝🏽. Quite often it's about getting certain elements stronger to progress the movement further as a whole. Focusing on it now will engrain new and improved motor patterns for the future. - ✅Tip: Start training barefoot🦶🏽to allow your feet some freedom. Shoes are essentially a pretty jail for your feet. How often do you change up your training?🤔 I like to change up my exercise regime around every 6 months not only for progress but to set new goals and complete challenges I never could have before. This year I trained for four weeks with my PT as part of a “shred” to feel confident on the stage at Miss Northern Ireland. I got better at running, improved my distance up to 13 miles for the Half Marathon. Now I’m back strength and conditioning training for boxing - to be more agile & strong.
