When the Met Gala comes around, we see how creative fashion designers and their celebrity muses can be when incorporating the Met gala’s themes into their outfits, and some celebrities took this initiative a step further by creating outfits like no other. The first outfit I want talk about is Emma Watson’s 2016 Calvin Klein design. To be honest I didn't think much about it until I did some research on it, I found out that it is made out of recycled plastic bottles. I was not that surprised that this was done by Emma Watson, though I could have never thought that plastic bottles could create clothing. I truly appreciate her effort on promoting recycling, believe you me our oceans and landfills needs it. My next outfit is Claire Danes in Zac Posen’s 2016 light up ball gown. At first glance the ball gown seemed out of place with the theme, which was “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” until Claire Danes walked into a dark area and her dress lit up and until this very day, my applause goes to Zac Posen his innovation and cementing himself in Met Gala’s history. And lastly Zendaya’s Tommy Hilfiger dress in 2019. Claire Danes may have had a dress that resembles Cinderella but Zendaya became Cinderella. Zendaya recreated the transformation scene from the Disney classic by having her dress light and expand, making us sing Bibbidi Bibbidi Boo.
