BOOTY WORKOUT⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Let's warm up those buns hun! I'm a fan of using resistance bands before glute/leg exercises, also doing some finishing exercises with them. It's so important to wake up your muscles before the actual workout. You can do these as a own workout or warming up routine. Having a hard time activating your glutes? Try these 7 exercises next time before leg day: . 15-20 reps each X3 with band . 1) Seated Abductors - lean back slightly, make sure there's tension in your glutes the entire time 2) Banded Glute Bridges - push thru the heels, keep ribs down 3) Glute Bridges Static Hold - squeeze the glutes as hard as you can, hold for 30 secs 4) Glute Bridges Static Hold w/ Abductors - squeeze glutes entire time, use your hands to make sure your feeling it in your gluteus medius 5) Donkey Kicks - keep foot flat, go straight up and down 6) Straight Leg Raises - point toes, go all the way up and all the way down 7) Fire Hydrants - squeeze glutes entire time, aim for full ROM

Day Three - Glute Focus ✅ Start lying on your back, lower body glued to the mat. #workitwednesday had me doing a quality run with 4x 4:00 at GHMP with 2:00 jog recoveries and then 4x 1:00 at 5k pace with 1:00 jog recoveries. Ended with 7 miles total and pretty much spot on paces. My second 4:00 interval was in range but not exactly where I wanted it, thanks to a car that wasn’t moving over. 🤬 . Followed that with a leg workout that included a lot of banded work. I get asked a lot about the band work, so here are some of my favorites: 💥 banded squats 💥 banded glute bridges 💥 banded squat walks (side to side) 💥 banded kick backs 💥 banded hamstring pulls 💥 banded front/back walks 💥 banded clamshells . These are all pretty easy to quickly fit in anytime during your day...you don’t need a dedicated workout. Do them while watching TV, cooking dinner, doing laundry, getting ready in the morning... Glute Activation is a “must do” exercise prior to your leg workout right now and with good reason. With our current lifestyle glutes become inactive and probably not firing properly when we move and workout. This could lead to lower back pain, hip pain, and even knee and ankle pain. You might not be able to lift as much or run as fast as you would like.
